Our bodies (our homes) are made up of (and nested within) other bodies. We include tiny teeming epigenetic and microbiotic tummy mates, rely on our nearby neighbors to transform human-scale homescapes together, and map the ongoing long seasons of our star shed's Laniakean kinships. Offered two days after the 2020 US elections, Joshua Halpern's forum considers the following questions:
-Who wants to start a war?
-When does ruin renew?
-Can we compost cruelty?
-How much must change?
-Who brought what?
Joshua Halpern, a Bay Area based Metamorphosis Ecologist, is unclear how to de-escalate state-supported sadists, but still wants to learn strategies to fight the theft of all we love. In this accelerating dance with disasters and dread, hastened dehumanization avalanching towards Gaiacide, Josh attempts surrender across scales of safety, and hopes peacemaking presence with what's precious can help ease expectations of continuity. Mostly Josh wants to hear how you're handling this shit and will try to build soil for growing foods that might unfuck the future.
